Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:17

ἀδιαλείπτως προσεύχεσθε,

“Pray without ceasing.”

The Threshold, Discipline

Prayer

Not a formula, a posture. Dave walks through biblical prayer forms with you: adoration, confession, thanksgiving, supplication. Rooted in Scripture, honest about distraction, and built for a man's actual life.

What This Lane Is

Prayer in The Threshold is treated as a discipline, not a performance. That means showing up when it is dry, building a structure that holds when emotion does not, and anchoring every form in Scripture. This page is a guide, not a tracker.

Biblical Prayer Forms

The Threshold uses four forms drawn from Scripture, Adoration (who God is), Confession (honest accounting), Thanksgiving (named specific mercies), Supplication (intercession and petition). Jesus taught the pattern in Matthew 6:9-13; the Psalms model all four in raw form.

A Rhythm to Build On

Morning anchor: open with a Psalm and one sentence of adoration before you look at your phone. Evening close: name three specific mercies from the day, not generic ones. Weekly: one intercession list for the people in your circle. Monthly: one prayer of rededication using Psalm 51 as a frame. These are proposals, not rules. Adjust to your actual life.

Anchor Passages

Matthew 6:5-13 (the pattern). Psalm 51 (confession). Psalm 103 (thanksgiving). Romans 8:26-27 (when words fail). Daniel 9:1-19 (intercession). 1 Kings 18:36-37 (bold petition).

What this is, and what it is not

THE THRESHOLD is faith-based discipleship, coaching, and brotherhood. It is not therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional mental-health care. I am not a licensed clinician, and I do not diagnose or treat anyone.

If you are in crisis, call or text 988. That is the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and someone is there every hour of every day.

If what you are carrying needs a licensed professional, I will say so plainly and help you find one. Praying with you and getting you real help are not opposites.
